“Your
ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it’."
Isa. 30:21 NKJV
In the New Testament we see how the Holy
Spirit led the church at Antioch to set aside Paul and Barnabas for missionary
service. We see later how He led Paul to
travel into Europe and minster there. In
the Old Testament we see how God led Abraham to go from Ur to the Promised
Land. We see how God directed the steps
of the Israelites in the wilderness.
Over and over we see God leading His people. Those are not just Bible
stories. Those are real life facts about
how God will lead those who will follow.
We have the One True God whose name is the
God Who Changes Not (Mal. 3:6) He didn’t stop leading at some obscure time in
the past. As the God Who Changes Not, He still does what He always did. He cares for His people. He leads His sheep. He provides for His flock. His Spirit which rested on people in Bible
times dwells within His people today. He
still speaks to us in His word today and says, “This is the way, walk in
it.”
Precious
Shepherd, Make my ears sensitive to Your voice that I might follow where You
lead. Amen.
