Make Me a Blessing

In you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” Genesis 12:3
This verse is not just a tremendous Messianic promise, it is also a great challenge to every believer to be an extension of that blessing. Only through Christ can all the world be blessed. Only through Him can all find forgiveness for sins and hope for eternity. Only through His return can earth itself be restored. There are things that only He can do.
But that doesn’t mean that we have no work to do. Paul said we should be zealous for good works. We should be eager to make the life of another person better, brighter, and more hopeful. He called us to become the extension of His blessing to others every day. Ira Wilson wrote the words to the gospel song, “Make Me a Blessing”. The words are simple and others will truly find new joy in life as we make those simple words come to life. Let us be zealous to pass on the blessing of Christ’s salvation and care to the world around us.

Dear Father, “Make me a blessing, out of my life, may Jesus shine.” Amen
