“Show
me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.” Psalm 25:4
Isaiah prophesied that God’s people
would hear the voice that said, “This is
the way; walk ye in it.” (Is. 30:21) David asked God to show just such a
way to Him. We realize that God has given to us the “Big Picture”. We know how
to be saved. We know the Ten Commandments. We know simple truths that apply to
our lives every day. But do we know the way for our life today. God told Joshua
to have the people stand back away from the Ark of the Covenant when they were
ready to pass into the Promised Land. He told them to stand back because, “you have not passed this way before”.
(Josh. 3:4)
It is true that we have lived many
days before this day, but we have never lived this day before. This day we need
to know what God would have us do. Today we need to have God teach us His
paths. How does He want us to glorify Him today? What makes today unique in our
life with God? What way would He have us live today that we didn’t live
yesterday and may not need to live tomorrow. Each day is new and each day we
need to have Him show us His path for today.
Dear
Father, Let me be sensitive to know Your path for my life this day. Amen.
